Recent studies have shown that 86% of consumers who use Internet search engines to find a local product or service follow up with a phone call or in-store visit. And 61% of those end up making their purchase offline. As a small business owner, that means you can no longer afford to take your chances with mailers or phone book ads that may or may not be working.

Internet Marketing

Internet marketing can generally be defined as generating sales and/or capturing leads from potential customers that are surfing the Internet. Traditionally, this has meant trying to get your website into Google (and others) search engine rankings so that it shows up when a potential customer of yours types in a “keyword phrase”. There are specialists and consultants that make their living working with companies to try and get their sites on the first page of Google’s search engine results for the keywords that everyone thinks will generate sales and leads. This consulting service is called search engine optimization or SEO.

Internet marketing has grown to include pay per click advertising. These are ads (when you do a Google search, they show up on the right hand side of the page) that are written by advertisers to be triggered when certain keywords or phrases are searched on. Each time a person clicks on the ad, they are sent to the advertiser’s website, and the advertiser is charged for that “click”. This is how Google makes billions of dollars.

The future of Internet marketing will be the social networking sites like Facebook. Here, the most efficient advertising will be “viral” and more “virtual word of mouth”. The most effective types of targeting for these advertising vehicles will be demographic targeting rather than keyword targeting. This is much more complex than search engine optimization and pay per click advertising, but has the potential to be much more profitable!

Our process is generally broken up into 4 key phases:

  • Research and Discovery – We examine the marketplace and research customer behavior, your competition, keywords and phrases, etc.

  • Planning – We put together a comprehensive plan to dominate your market through the applicable advertising channels. We agree on business goals and a budget for advertising spend.

  • Execution – We apply the right resources with the right experiences to implement the plan.

  • Measurement and Reporting – We regularly report on our progress, and examine the key metrics of our campaigns together to ensure that we’re meeting the goals.

Pay Per Click Advertising

Pay per click advertising consists of ads that are written by advertisers to be triggered when certain keywords or phrases are searched on. Each time a person clicks on the ad, they are sent to the advertiser’s website, and the advertiser is charged for that “click”. Pay per click advertising can be a VERY profitable way to increase sales and leads and should be part of every business owners’ Internet advertising campaign. Unfortunately, managing even a small pay per click campaign can be complex and requires very specialized knowledge and experience. There are several problems that the novice advertiser runs into.

  • Understanding Google’s rules and tips and tricks – Google has lots of unwritten rules for how campaigns should be set up and run. These rules have a direct impact on how much you’ll pay for the advertising. These rules include:• Keyword grouping • Quality score • Ad relevancy • Click through rate management • Bid pricing

  • Keyword research – Most companies have anywhere from 10 to keywords and should most likely be bidding on 1,000-3,000. The right tools and strategies can make a big difference in your campaign.

  • Ad testing – If you’re not split testing, you’re most likely getting only 1⁄2 the visitors to your site than you should be.

  • Conversion tracking – Most business owners don’t know how to track whether a dollar spent on advertising generated any sales. Obviously, without this information, you’re flying blind.

  • Tools – Having the right tools in the market to help create and manage pay per click campaigns is critical.
  • Targeted sales pages – Sending all your visitors to a generic home page isn’t nearly as effective as sending them to a targeted page that tells them exactly how you can solve their particular problem. We will create a solution for you that optimizes each and every one of these issues. See how we can make a difference for your business today.

  • Geographic Targeting
  • Custom Conversion & ROI Tracking
  • Expert Ad Copy Analysis & Testing
  • Dedicated Management

Keyword Research & Analysis

Our keyword research tools will ensure that the client's campaign encompasses every possible and relevant search term, which may include the following:

  • Variations
  • Brand/Product Terms
  • Product SKUs
  • Regional Keywords
  • Abbreviations
  • Related Keywords
  • Misspellings
  • Negative Keywords

By utilizing different matching types and adding in locations, abbreviations and all related keywords, the campaign will target users who are specifically searching for the client's unique product or service. Through creative management and landing page development, we can focus more on "capturing the lead/sale" by creating a better ad match and sending to the appropriate landing page.

Geographic Targeting

Campaigns can be targeted towards users in the geographic location that our clients serve. PPC budgets are never wasted on visitors that are outside the targeted location, which allows for precise and efficient spending.

Custom Conversion & ROI Tracking

eBusinessLocal has the ability to track all aspects of the campaign's effectiveness. Wherever applicable, eBusinessLocal implements advanced ROI tracking software to trace all leads, sales, and downloads, as well as the ad creative and keyword that generated the conversion.

Ad Copy Analysis & Testing

Ad copy analysis and testing is a highly useful, yet often overlooked component of effective online advertising. Even minor adjustments in ad copy can create dramatic results. Through our exhaustive ad copy research and A-B ad copy testing techniques, we maximize click-thru rates in order to obtain the lowest overall cost per conversion.

Dedicated Management

eBusinesslocal's dedicated management team will ensure that your account is as efficient as possible by scrutinizing the frequency, type and amount of clicks received and continually evaluating the success of keywords. eBusinesslocal also monitors bids, positions, clicks, conversions, and keyword activity, 24 hours a day.

Optional Modules If Needed

Search Engine Optimization

Everyone loves successful search engine optimization, because you can get lots of traffic…and…it’s free! The problem is, that no one really knows how Google decides where to rank your site and when it will show up. Any expert that tells you that they know exactly how Google’s ranking works and/or guarantees that you’ll get into the top spots (for a fee, of course), is being less than truthful. Even so, there are proven techniques that you can employ to get your site into the top of the listings. We believe in being very transparent about what we're doing and why we're doing it, so we'll show you exactly what we're doing, and why it helps to skyrocket you right to the top!

Business owners have big challenges when it comes to search engine optimization:

  • Often, Google doesn’t even know their site exists (this is VERY common)
  • Even if Google does know about their site, it never shows up in search engine listings.
  • Even if their site does show up in some kind of search, it’s hardly ever the “keyword phrase” the owner would like
  • Even if the owner could dictate to Google what keywords to show the site for, most business owners don’t know which words and phrases are the money makers!

We use proven techniques to overcome each of these barriers.

Email Marketing

Today everyone is on email. And frankly for most of us it has become the preferred method of communication. Email is becoming more and more sophisticated in its ability to deliver meaningful communications and build customer relationships. Technology allows you to incorporate interaction, video, even applications directly into the body of your email. An integrated email marketing campaign is not only a proven business communication tool — it is one of the fastest ways to reach out to new customers or stay in contact with existing clients. So whether you’re looking to build your email list, send a newsletter, implement a permission-based email campaign or survey your customers, we can build an email solution to meet your needs. Our team of experts will create a powerful and effective email solution to help you achieve your goals.

Social Networking Sites

The good news is that the opportunities for laser-targeted advertising are becoming a reality. Want to target 18-24 year old college graduate women who are engaged? Well, you can…in Facebook. The bad news is that, with this added power, comes much added complexity. That’s why you need a partner who understands and can work in this dynamic and complex marketplace.

Some facts about social networking sites: MySpace had more traffic in 2007 than Google Already, FaceBook has reached Google traffic levels YouTube gets twice as much traffic as Google These sites are DOUBLING every 6 months ; FaceBook adds 1 million visitors each week In a typical month – 30% of worldwide Internet users visit MySpace – 29% visit FaceBook – 35% visit YouTube It’s not just kids discussing what they’re going to wear to the prom – Over 50% of MySpace users are over 35 – Facebook even has 100k users over 64.

Why This Is So Important Now More Than Ever

Recently Nielsen Online & Webvisible conducted a survey polling nearly 4,000 people in the U.S. asking about their habits and methods in finding local businesses. Their results revealed a considerable disconnect between the way consumers look for local business and the way business owners are advertising. Because of this, local businesses miss a significant opportunity. We hope the research here shows you the absolute importance of search engine marketing. You already know that an incredible 82% of consumers today use search engines to find local business.

With advertising coming from every direction, consumers today feel inundated with all the advertising and they value control and relevance. Search engines allow the consumer to control their advertising via their search queries and 73% would prefer to find products and services using search engines than have an advertisement sent to them.

Because an advertiser's ad only appears to interested consumers searching for their products or services, search marketing provides the highest quality leads to business owners. When consumers want to find a local business, they use clearly defined search terms. 40% use a location specific term in their search, such as "dentist in New York". Less than 10% search by business name.

Today, search engines are the No. 1 choice of consumers and small business owners alike when looking for a local product or service. 72% use search engines more today than they did 2 years ago, yet the majority of local business spend less than 10% of their marketing budget on any type of internet advertising. In fact only 26% of local businesses are currently investing in search engine marketing to promote their business. Meanwhile, 63% of consumers turn to the internet FIRST when looking for local products or services.

Impact on Traditional Advertising

58 percent

The use of search to find local businesses, products or services grew 58% in 2008 to reach an annual total of 15.7 billion searches. Source: comScore. Over the last 2 years, local newspaper usage has declined by 15%, direct mail by 18%, and radio by 14%.

As search engine marketing continues to dramatically increase its market share, consumers have heavily decreased their usage in other traditional forms of marketing when searching for local businesses.
